STANDARD DEDUCTIONS
FWT: Federal Withholding Tax

SWT: State Taxes

FICA: Social Security Tax- 6.20% Maximum unit of $106,800 for 2010

MED: Medicare Portion of Social Security 1.45%-no limit

UNEMP: Unemployment Tax-.425% Maximum unit of $29,700 for 2010.

FLI: Family Leave Insurance -It is a mandatory deduction of $33.00 per year. This deduction will discontinue after the $33.00 monthly contribution has been met.

P/PEN: Public Employees Retirement System-Deduction from first and second pays.  Public Employees Pension deductions include part time, back pension, loans, supplemental annuity, contributory insurance (full or part time) and arrears pension.

T/PEN: Teachers’ Pension and Annuity-Deduction from first and second pays.

Teachers’ Pension deductions include, back pension, loans, supplemental annuity contributory insurance and arrears pension.

T/INS: Contributory Insurance-Teacher

P/INS: Contributory Insurance-Public Employee

NJEA: New Jersey Education Association

DENTL: Dental Contribution

GTL: Group term life insurance-deduction from first and second pays $50,000

T/Loan: TPAF Loan

P/Loan: Personal Loan

HEALTH:      Health Benefits Contribution (1.5%)

ADDITIONAL DEDUCTIONS
MEDICAL & DISABILITY
HB BAL: O/S Health Benefits Balance-Deductions taken from first and second pays.

This deduction is taken as a result of an employee’s inability to pay medical coverage due to a medical leave of absence without pay and the Board of Education must subsidize that medical coverage.  This money is paid back to the Board of Education via a payroll deduction.
AIG: A/K/A Franklin-Disability insurance.
PRUDIS: Prudential Disability Insurance

PENSION AND UNION DUES
NJEA: NJ Education Association Dues-Once a month deduction from first paycheck.
MEMBERS 1ST:

Credit Union-Deduction from first and second pays.

UAW: Full Dues for Union Membership-deduction from first and second pays.
UAW: Agency Dues-Employees who are not full union members are considered agents and must pay a fee which is less than what is paid for full Union membership.  Deduction from first and second pays.

VASA: Dues Vasa & CCPSA

SAN: Dues
